The Navajo Bridge Star Party brings together astronomy, cultural learning, and community at one of northern Arizona’s most iconic landscapes. Hosted by Glen Canyon Conservancy in partnership with Coconino County Supervisor Lena Fowler, the evening invites visitors to experience the night sky from Historic Navajo Bridge in Marble Canyon.
Guests can explore the stars through telescopes, learn about constellations and the night sky from knowledgeable astronomers, and enjoy Navajo cultural teachings that connect people, place, and the skies above us. Set high above the Colorado River, the event offers a unique opportunity to experience the natural and cultural significance of the Marble Canyon landscape after dark.
The Star Party also celebrates the local Marble Canyon community and encourages visitors to slow down, stay awhile, and discover the area beyond the daytime tourist stop. By bringing together astronomy, Indigenous knowledge, education, and community partners, the event creates a meaningful connection between the stories of the land below and the stars above.
Historic Navajo Bridge provides a particularly fitting setting: the historic 1929 bridge now serves as a pedestrian walkway and overlooks the Colorado River roughly 467 feet below

The evening is part of America 250’s Arizona Lager celebration, with a portion of proceeds benefiting Glen Canyon Conservancy and its work to protect and connect people with Glen Canyon.
