Badlands

In the late 1950s and early ’60s, Page, Arizona was founded as a construction camp for the creation of Glen Canyon Dam – and the resulting obliteration of Glen Canyon and the Colorado River. For a town located in the midst of pristine wilderness, it was an unusually sudden and antithetical birth. Cliffs, monoliths, profound canyons, delicate sandstone fins, rugged terrain and sculptured stone of almost all descriptions surround the little town in all directions. They are the magnificent Badlands.
